WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) XLI Predictions

This Saturday will mark the second-to-last nostalgia-driven show on WWE’s calendar. The neon lights will be shining, the ropes will be bright, and the wrestling world will be ready. Each show, this year, has had its own attraction, but there might not be one that compares to this Saturday. WWE has loaded its card with four outstanding matches, all with championship implications.

There is so much on the line at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI. All of the matches have championships on the line, and the winners will march towards the end of the year as champions. We have a vacant title to be decided, two world championships hanging in the balance in two grudge matches, and an IC title match that could see a sneaky heel finally get his comeuppance. These matches will be amazing, but who will emerge victorious? The spoils are there for the taking, but who will be the one taking them? Our predictions are below.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Dominik Mysterio vs Rusev vs Penta

Dominik Mysterio’s IC Championship reign has been one filled with luck. Since winning the championship, he has been able to lie, cheat, and steal his way to victory. His character development has been spot on, but he may have hit his biggest roadblock in Rusev and Penta. They represent the best talent on Raw’s mid-card and are legitimate threats to Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship.

Over the past few weeks, these three men have engaged each other on Raw. They have been fun matches with back-and-forth action, that eventually saw Mysterio cheat his way to victory. With a triple threat stipulation, we will get some great action. There is a variety of styles for these men to explore in the match, and no doubt lots of interference will be taking place.

Since winning the secondary championship, Mysterio has been fantastic. He is receiving reactions that aren’t usual for a heel, and for that reason, he will be retaining the Intercontinental Championship. Dominik Mysterio will cheat his way to victory, yet again, and the crowd will love him for it.

Winner: Dominik Mysterio

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill

It feels as if these women have been linked forever. Their first encounter was met with excitement, but the match failed to live up to expectations. For lack of better opponents, WWE has stuck with these two for the championship, but has changed the dynamic with Jade Cargill’s heel turn. A heel turn that has rejuvenated Cargill and could lead to something special.

Seeing a more traditional heel versus babyface dynamic will help to set this match apart from their previous encounters. This should be a huge improvement, with the women exploring the more vicious side of Jade Cargill’s heel turn. This probably won’t be a fast-paced match, but rather a story-driven one. WWE has created a monster with Jade Cargill, and that monster will be unleashed. Unfortunately, it will be at the burial of Tiffany Stratton, but her reign has been nearing its end for a long time now.

Winner: Jade Cargill

WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs Drew McIntyre

This has been a long-awaited match between two of the biggest stars on SmackDown.  Cody Rhodes’ white meat babyface character has taken a turn due to the actions of Drew McIntyre. It has been fun to see how these two have interacted, and based on their showdowns in the past, we are in for a real treat at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre have the hatred to make this match very personal. They will tear each other apart the second the bell rings, and it’s going to be a sight to see. Neither man has had a bad match this year, and there is no reason to think that this will be the one.

A strong case can be made for Drew McIntyre winning the WWE Championship here. He has been the best heel in the company over the past year, and it’s time that he gets rewarded for it. However, it’s hard to see Cody Rhodes losing his title here. He has been featured in the advertising leading up to WrestleMania 42, and it wouldn’t make sense to have him drop the strap now. WWE will want to have a huge build leading to his loss.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

World Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk vs Jey Uso

Seth Rollins’ injury came at the worst time for WWE, but they managed to pivot nicely leading into Saturday Night’s Main Event. Pitting Jey Uso against CM Punk gives us a great story to sink our teeth into. A story of a veteran trying to get his hands back on the World Championship while the leader of the Yeet movement claws his way back to the main event. Both men need to win the World Championship this Saturday, but unfortunately, only one will get that chance.

Luckily, both men have a ton left in the tank to give the world a great match. Jey Uso will stick to his high-flying offense while CM Punk will try to keep the Uce grounded. We will desperation seep into every pore of this match, with both men doing whatever it takes.

This is CM Punk’s match to lose. Jey Uso had a lacklustre reign as the champion, and Punk never got his chance. Since returning, CM Punk has only momentarily gotten his hands on a World Championship, and the fans need to see him get a long reign. Saturday Night’s Main Event will be the start of that reign.

Winner: CM Punk
