  • WWE is bringing back the all-women's premium live event Evolution this summer after much anticipation.
  • Bayley has been a strong advocate for the event's return, citing the strong and deep women's division roster.
  • Evolution 2 is expected to feature top talents like Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair, with the official announcement set before WrestleMania.

After years of anticipation and some pretty big names advocating for it behind the scenes, WWE is officially bringing back its all-women’s premium live event, Evolution, later this summer. According to WrestleVotes Radio’s Backstage Pass, WWE is expected to announce the return of the historic event before WrestleMania.

Originally held in 2018, Evolution was a groundbreaking event that showcased WWE’s female superstars in every match on the entire card. It was widely praised for its match quality and significance in advancing women's wrestling, particularly in WWE, where fans had been pushing for better representation. Since that event, which featured top stars such as Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Trish Stratus, the women's division in WWE has only gotten stronger and deeper.

That first event made history as WWE’s first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view, yet a second one was never scheduled.

WWE Is Finally Bringing Back The Event

The decision to revive Evolution comes amid pushes from some important people in WWE and renewed fan demand. One of the biggest advocates for the event has been Bayley, who at seemingly every opportunity to say how much she'd like to see another PLE, she's brought it up publicly. Claming the roster is more stacked than ever before, it would be a waste not to hold another event.

This show could be headlined by Rhea Ripley, Bayley, Bianca Belair, and Iyo Sky, plus a wealth of talent from NXT, including Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer. There is little doubt that Evolution 2 has the potential to be even bigger and better than the original.

The official announcement is expected to take place before WrestleMania, WWE’s biggest annual event, which will be held in April. The timing is probably not a coincidence. WWE will smartly use the increased audience to promote Evolution 2 and build momentum heading into the summer.

It will be fun to see who WWE will build the show around, but there are plenty of options, and any one of them could be WrestleMania main event worthy.
