WWE Smackdown comes to you live tonight from Knoxville, Tennessee, in the Thompson-Boling Arena. Tonight we have some more Money In The Bank qualifiers on the men's and women's sides but more to the point, we have some major returns to the brand.
Money in the Bank 2025 Qualifying Match taking place next week on #SmackDown:Jade Cargill v Nia Jax v Naomi pic.twitter.com/TMn3b6Iv06— Wrestle Ops (@WrestleOps) May 24, 2025
So far in the women's Money In The Bank match, SmackDown's Alexa Bliss and Giulia have qualified. On Raw's side, Rhea Ripley and Roxanne Perez have qualified. That's two veterans and two new main roster stars, and I think another newcomer to the Money In The Bank match will qualify. Look for Jade Cargill to overcome the odds and defeat the soft alliance between Nia Jax and Naomi.
On paper, it seems like Jacob Fatu would be a shoo-in for Money In The Bank. However, his growing resentment with his cousin Solo Sikoa and WWE newcomer JC Matteo will likely cause Fatu some kind of downfall in this match. WWE surely has big long-term plans for the former NXT standout Carmelo Hayes, so look for him to win this triple threat.
Cody Rhodes has been missing from Smackdown since the go-home show for WWE WrestleMania 41 back in April. Finally, Rhodes made his presence known at Saturday Night's Main Event where he challenged Logan Paul & John Cena to a tag team match which would see Rhodes team up with Jey Uso.
It will be interesting to hear what Rhodes has to say in a prolonged promo battle with the man who took his WWE Championship. Rhodes has faced fan criticism for looking like a fool in the WrestleMania 41 main event, so this is Rhodes' chance to win fans back.
Bianca Belair returns tomorrow on #SmackDown in her hometown of Knoxville pic.twitter.com/uy8T3t5JuY— Cory (@Cory_Hays407) May 29, 2025
Bianca Belair put on an absolute clinic at WrestleMania 41 with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky in what most fans considered to be the best match of the two-night event. However, she suffered a finger injury in the match that put her off TV for a month. However, she's back tonight and in her hometown.
It will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to Belair however as she was booed quite heavily in her feud against Sky and Ripley. Was it a symptom of being against the biggest women's star in the company in Rhea Ripley, or was it a larger issue of fans being fed up of Belair's character?
Who knows, maybe Belair will involve herself in the triple threat match between Cargill, Jax and Naomi.
