Drew McIntyre is the new Undisputed WWE Champion, and he has Jacob Fatu to thank for it. Fatu finally revealed himself in the main event, costing Cody Rhodes the title in the final moments of a brutal Three Stages of Hell match.

SmackDown delivered a chaotic night in Berlin that will have massive implications heading into the Royal Rumble. Randy Orton reminded Trick Williams why you don't challenge legends, Jordynne Grace made her in-ring debut, and the main event gave fans everything they could have asked for—and then some. Here's everything that went down from Germany.

Randy Orton Confronts Trick Williams on SmackDown

SmackDown opened with Randy Orton making his way to the ring to address the WWE Universe. Before The Viper could get a word out, Trick Williams made his entrance to a Berlin crowd chanting, "whoop that Trick."

Williams grabbed a microphone and reminded Orton that the year is 2026, not 2006. Bad move.

Orton's comeback was classic, rattling off his accomplishments and reminding Williams exactly who he was stepping to. The back-and-forth continued until Orton delivered a rope-hung DDT that left Williams laid out.

But wait—remember The Miz attacking Orton last week? The A-Lister came down to get his revenge, attacking Orton from behind.

Miz attempted a Skull-Crushing Finale, but Orton countered and planted him with an RKO. Two down, and Orton hadn't even broken a sweat.

Did Williams learn his lesson about challenging legends? We'll see.

Trick Williams def. Rey Fenix

This was a match of contrasting styles—luchador against power. Fenix was dominated by Williams' offense early on, but showed some life with a top rope hurricanrana.

Just when it looked like Fenix's aerial offense would get him the win, he attempted a roll-up that was reversed by Williams, who held the tights for a three-count.

Giulia Retains US Women's Championship Over Alexa Bliss

Giulia looked strong during the opening stretch, but Alexa Bliss had seen enough. As the champion charged, Bliss pulled down the top rope and sent Giulia crashing to the outside right before the commercial break.

Back from break, Bliss had shifted into offensive mode and climbed to the top rope for a Twisted Bliss. But Lash Legend had other plans.

Legend shoved Bliss off the top rope, allowing Giulia to recover and plant her with the Northern Lights Bomb for the win.

The punishment didn't stop there. After the match, Lash Legend and Nia Jax attacked Bliss in a brutal post-match beatdown.

Legend landed a vicious overhand right, followed by Jax delivering a top rope sit-down splash. Rough night for Alexa Bliss.

The MFTs def. The Wyatt Sicks

These two groups had been feuding for weeks, and this match delivered exactly what you'd expect from a grudge match—chaos, intensity, and questionable finishes.

The spot of the night came when Uncle Howdy was taking on all of the opponents at once. Solo Sikoa managed to get hold of the lantern and distract Uncle Howdy.

That distraction allowed Tama Tonga to hit the cutthroat for the pin and give The MFTs the victory. More importantly, Sikoa now has possession of the lantern, which shifts the power dynamic in this feud.

A tag team title match has to happen soon. Don't look for it to be during the Royal Rumble broadcast.

This has a Saturday Night's Main Event feel to it, and that event is conveniently scheduled a week before the Royal Rumble. Perfect timing for WWE to capitalize on the momentum.

Winner: The MFTs def. The Wyatt Sicks via pinfall

Jordynne Grace Wins SmackDown Debut Match

Grace was seen in an earlier segment with Nick Aldis officially joining the SmackDown roster. Now it was time to see what she could do in the ring.

Question: Whenever you see Alba Fyre booked in a match, do you ever expect her to win? This was a showcase match for Jordynne Grace, the three-time TNA Knockouts Champion, and she did exactly what she needed to do.

Grace convincingly prevailed over Fyre, making an immediate statement on the blue brand.

After the match, Jade Cargill came out and "politely" introduced herself to Jordynne Grace. The tension was palpable.

This is the first domino to fall in a buildup to a future match. WWE is planting seeds early, and the Grace vs. Cargill showdown is going to be must-see.

Can anyone on SmackDown match Grace's power besides Cargill?

Carmelo Hayes Retains US Title Over Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura answered Carmelo Hayes' open challenge this week, and the Berlin crowd was into it. Fans cheered loudly for both wrestlers as they made their way to the ring.

This match started fast with Hayes controlling the action before the commercial break. Once back from break, Nakamura had shifted his strategy entirely.

The King of Strong Style went to work on Hayes' left leg, targeting the wounded limb with surgical precision. Nakamura utilized two dragon screws while Hayes was hung up in the ropes.

Hayes managed to recover and shift things back in his favor on the offensive end before the final stretch. Later in the match, Nakamura went for the Kinshasa, but Hayes had it scouted.

Hayes countered and hit the First 48. Nothing But Net was next, and Hayes picked up the three-count to retain his championship.

Drew McIntyre Defeats Cody Rhodes in Three Stages of Hell

The main event was here, and Berlin was about to witness history. Three stages, one championship, and two men willing to destroy each other.

Stage One: Traditional Match

Cody Rhodes came out in a rage and went after McIntyre immediately. He hit a disaster kick and a bionic elbow early.

That elbow was great, but the two middle fingers he gave McIntyre first were better. Things were going well for Rhodes in the opening moments.

But McIntyre changed the game with a kick to the groin. A Claymore Kick followed, and McIntyre secured the first fall.

Stage Two: Falls Count Anywhere

McIntyre, fresh off his first fall victory, put Rhodes through a table on the outside. The action spilled into the stands, and the chaos was on.

Cody had a funny spot where he grabbed a fan's phone, bit McIntyre in the head, and tossed the phone back to the fan. The Berlin crowd loved it.

Rhodes stretched McIntyre out on a table and climbed back into the stands. He delivered a powerful splash for a two-count.

That should have gotten Rhodes the pinfall, but it didn't. Rhodes dragged McIntyre back down to ringside and placed him on the announce table.

Cross Rhodes on the table. Pin. They were tied at one fall apiece.

Stage Three: Steel Cage Match

You just knew they would get to all three stages in this match. The cage was lowered, and everything was on the line.

Just when it looked like Rhodes was going to climb over the top of the cage, Drew McIntyre took him for a ride with a superplex. The impact shook the ring.

It looked like this match was about to end with a Future Shock DDT, but Rhodes found a way to kick out. Later in the match, Cody hit McIntyre with consecutive Cross Rhodes.

He went for a third, but McIntyre escaped by raking Rhodes' eyes. McIntyre placed Cody in danger with a Claymore Kick.

That move didn't end it. McIntyre tried to climb over the top of the cage, and Rhodes joined him atop the structure.

Rhodes had a chance to climb down, but instead he jumped from the top of the cage and hit a Cody Cutter for a two count. At this point, it seemed as though both men refused to lose to the other.

Later in the match, both men were on top of the ropes fighting. Both fell and crotched themselves on the top rope.

McIntyre was the first to recover and made his way to the cage door. But a masked man appeared.

The masked man was none other than Jacob Fatu. Fatu was taken out in October by someone who many believed to be Drew McIntyre, and the former Bloodline enforcer hadn't been seen since. Now he was back for revenge.

McIntyre ran to the other side of the ring with Fatu giving chase. After pounding on McIntyre, Fatu turned his attention to Rhodes.

That allowed McIntyre to slide to the outside and win the title.

Did anyone see Fatu's return coming tonight?

Winner: Drew McIntyre def. Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship

Drew needed this win. He's been close too many times, and after his pandemic-era title reigns and short WrestleMania runs, his victory creates unpredictability for fans. Give WWE credit for doing the right thing and putting the title on Drew McIntyre.

WrestleMania season can get bland after the Royal Rumble, but it appears they may be giving us more to think about this year.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this was a solid card. WWE needs to do a better job with the action in some spots, but they got the important stuff right.

Williams winning by cheating doesn't diminish Rey Fenix and gets him over as a heel. Smart booking there.

The Bliss vs. Giulia match was barely OK, and was definitely the bathroom break match of the night. Bliss wasn't winning this match, and everyone knew it.

Jordynne Grace looked dominant and won as expected, but disregard the fact that it was a squash match. This was about giving Jade Cargill someone who could match her power for a future match.

Jacob Fatu costing Cody the title in the way that he did creates another three-man feud. Multi-person feuds are something that WWE creative actually gets right.

No one knew about Fatu's return, and the flow of the match was too close to say who would win. Drew is the champion, Cody is now chasing the title, and Fatu now has issues with both of them.

The road to WrestleMania is starting to heat up after this show.
