WWE SmackDown Tonight – Results (4/25/25):

The 17-Time Champ Is Here

Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena kicks off WWE SmackDown tonight, sporting old gear and the same disdain for the WWE Universe. Cena called Mark Shunock into the ring, informing him his introduction was disrespectful, forcing him to do it over again, addressing John Cena as the “Greatest of All-Time” and “Last Real Champion.”

Before Cena could speak, Randy Orton made his way to the ring. Orton would acknowledge their history together, saying how much of an impact John Cena had on the WWE. However, Orton stated that there’s a void in Cena’s heart, and it’s because he doesn’t have children of his own.

Randy Orton implored Cena to “grow up” and become a father. John Cena was livid after that statement, saying that he doesn’t have kids of his own because he raised the WWE Universe for over a quarter century, saying that this abusive relationship doesn’t work anymore because they’re ungrateful.

Once again, Orton had something to say, he said that, no matter what John Cena feels about the WWE Universe, he wouldn’t have his fame and Hollywood career without them. To put salt into the wounds, John Cena being ungrateful and showing up whenever he wants essentially makes him a “guest” at Orton’s home of WWE, where he is “furniture” and has no plans on leaving.

John Cena did not take this lying down, saying that he doesn’t care about all this anymore. He’s sacrificed enough, and once it’s all said and done and he walks away with the illustrious, history-filled title at the end of 2025, he will erase almost 100 years of professional wrestling history, as well as three generations of Randy Orton’s family.

Randy Orton would not let happen, challenging Cena to a match right then and there. However, Cena did not want that to happen in Texas, he wants it in St. Louis, Missouri. Randy would laugh off Cena’s lack of interest in putting the Undisputed WWE Championship on the spot.

To say this got heated is an understatement. The two would trade more jabs, and then it got physical. Cena would blindside Orton, throwing the belt in his hands and blasting him, giving the beatdown of a lifetime. Randy Orton would duck an Undisputed WWE Title attack from Cena, delivering a devastating RKO and hoisting up the championship.

Los Garza vs. Fraxiom

As you would expect, this match was hectic from start to finish. Los Garza pulled out all the stops, but the debuting Nathan Frazer and Axiom will not be denied on their WWE SmackDown tag team debut. After a break-neck-paced match, Axiom would hit a Spanish Fly, followed by a Phoenix Splash from Frazer, to pick up a win in their debut.

Tiffany Stratton Speaks

“Tiffy” Time started with Tiffany Stratton celebrating her historic, successful defense against Charlotte Flair at WWE WrestleMania 41. Stratton said that there may be only one Charlotte Flair, but there’s also surely only one Tiffany Stratton, especially after she conquered “The Queen” at the “Grandest Stage of them All.”

Before Tiffany Stratton could go further, a storm came, and Jade Cargill would step up to the plate and challenge Tiffany Stratton to an impromptu match to determine who really is the “best woman in WWE.” A ref came out, and this match was underway.

Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill

As expected from two of WWE’s best pure athletes, this was an extremely competitive match. Tiffany Stratton gave her best shot, and Jade Cargill returned the favor tenfold. Unfortunately, as Cargill was getting the upper hand, Naomi would interfere and beat down Cargill, resulting in the disqualification.

Stratton would chase off Naomi, staring her down. With Stratton’s eyes set on Naomi, Nia Jax would return and blindside her arch-rival, delivering a violent assault on the WWE Women’s Champion and making a huge statement.
