WWE SummerSlam 2025 Results – Night 1 (8/2/25):

  • Cardi B. would welcome the WWE Universe to the Tri-State and welcome everyone to WWE SummerSlam 2025, Saturday night.
  • To begin the first of two nights of WWE SummerSlam 2025, Jey Uso and the “OTC” Roman Reigns battle Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. The two sides went to war for the opener, with Reed and Breakker putting up a fantastic performance, dominating most of the match and isolating Jey Uso. Unfortunately for them, Jey and Reigns’ experience and unselfishness would be their undoing. Roman Reigns would kick butt like he did, but above all else, he took bullet after bullet for Jey Uso tonight. In the closing moments of the match, Reigns would once again push his cousin out of the way, getting hit by the Spear. Jey would get rid of Breakker and focus on a downed Reed, hitting the Uso Splash to pick up the victory for him and Roman.
  • Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship next against Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. A fantastic match between the two teams results in the underdogs, Bliss and Flair, becoming #AndNEW WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions despite their miscues.
  • Karrion Kross enters first, accompanied by Scarlett, to finally settle things with Sami Zayn in a Grudge Match. All match long, the will of Zayn was tested, with Kross executing a ton of punishment to convince Sami to turn to the dark side. However, Zayn proved that he didn’t need to. With a weapon in hand, Zayn would empathetically throw it down, choosing to finish this match on his terms. Zayn would hit the Helluva Kick to Kross, securing the pinfall win.
  • Another championship match is up next for WWE SummerSlam 2025, as WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defends against Queen of the Ring Jade Cargill. The “Storm” came out like a house on fire against Stratton, showing off her newfound repertoire. However, that overzealousness ended up costing her. Cargill had Stratton on the ropes, hoisting her up on the middle rope to hit her with an Avalanche Jaded. Jade took too long, allowing Stratton to counter in mid-air with a variation of the Victory Roll, flinging Cargill off instead of taking the Jaded finisher. Tiffany would not waste any time, hitting the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to retain the WWE Women’s Championship.
  • The all-star tag team match with a debuting Jelly Roll teaming with Randy Orton is next, facing off against the cocky Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. Jelly Roll had an impressive debut, standing toe-to-toe with Paul and even McIntyre in the early going of the match. He would get overwhelmed, though, as he became isolated by his opponents. Once Orton was tagged, business picked up, and Paul and McIntyre were against the wall. The tides would turn when, on the outside, Logan Paul hit Jelly Roll with a “Paul From Grace” Frog Splash, essentially making this a Handicap Match. Jelly Roll did not want to go out like that, and willed himself to his partner’s side once again. Orton would make the tag, and Jelly Roll would go off, hitting McIntyre with the Black Roll Slam, and a Jelly-to-Bell to Paul. McIntyre would level Jelly Roll, hitting him with a Claymore, before getting his lights knocked out by an RKO from Orton. Ever the opportunist, Paul would throw Orton into the ring post, and hit Jelly Roll with Paul From Grace one more time to get the win.
  • For the main event of this WWE SummerSlam results for night one, August 2nd, 2025, it’s CM Punk challenging Gunther for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. After a marathon of a match where we saw both men give it their all, Gunther would get busted open in the latter stages of the match, leading to Punk capitalizing on the moment, hitting GTS two times before securing the title victory.
  • Unfortunately for CM Punk, the night did not end there. Seth Rollins would cash in Money in the Bank, screwing CM Punk out of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and walking out of Newark, New Jersey, as the #AndNEW champion.
