Booker T has responded to reports claiming WWE, TNA and AEW employees were puzzled by his comments regarding Jade Cargill being "pretty much just fresh off her AEW run". The WWE Hall of Famer received backlash after giving his take on the SmackDown triple threat match, which saw Cargill face Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax.

"Baffled" - Booker T Sarcastically Responds To Criticism

Booker T questioned the level of knowledge Cargill had gained during her time in AEW while assessing the SmackDown main event, which resulted in her face getting cut open. He said on his Hall of Fame podcast that she "probably didn't learn a whole lot" while in AEW.

The line regarding the 33-year-old being fresh off her AEW run confused fans because she's been with WWE for two years. She left AEW in late 2023 and made her in-ring debut at the Royal Rumble in January 2024 after signing with the company four months earlier.

Reports from SEScoops claimed that individuals in WWE, AEW and TNA were "confused" by Booker's comments because Cargill has competed in more matches for WWE than AEW. He has now laughed off those claims with a telling post on X:

"(BREAKING NEWS) According to sources several talent in WWE, TNA and even AEW are baffled people still believe what they read online."

Cargill posted an update on her injury days after the SmackDown main event, which ended with Stratton successfully defending the WWE Women's Championship. She uploaded two pictures of a gruesome cut, which came after a spot with Jax where the latter pushed her into the steel steps.

Jade Cargill Breaks Her Silence After Booker T's Comments

Many felt that Booker T's comments undermined Cargill's progress in WWE while also downplaying development in AEW. Her Instagram post including of her nasty-looking cut was captioned: "Don’t question the love I have for this game" and she received support from peers including Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss in the comments section.

Cargill has since posted a quote on her Instagram story that reads:

"Ain't no way people be thinking I give a f**k.. I don't even look like I give a f**k."

The Storm was absent from SmackDown this week as she recovers from her injury but her performances as of late have fans pining for her to become champion. She has yet to win a singles title in WWE but is a former two-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion and the incumbent Queen of the Ring.
