WWE Worlds Collide 2025: Date, Location, and First Match Announced
WWE
  • WWE announces Worlds Collide PLE for Sept. 12 in Las Vegas against AAA.
  • WWE plans main roster PLE, "Wrestlepalooza," same day as AEW All Out.
  • Dominik Mysterio to get rematch against El Hijo del Vikingo for AAA Mega Championship.

Just a few days after Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s record-breaking TripleMania XXXIII event, WWE has announced its next event, Worlds Collide. The event’s theme is WWE versus AAA.

When and Where Is The Worlds Collide PLE?

It was announced that the event is slated for Friday, September 12. It will be taking place at The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. It's worth bringing up how the AEW’s All Out pay-per-view will only be a few days after — September 20 — though the location isn’t near Las Vegas, but Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

With that being said, it was previously reported that WWE is also planning a main roster Premium Live Event on the same day as All Out. It’s expected that the main event will see John Cena face Brock Lesnar. It's believed that the event will be titled Wrestlepalooza. So be prepared for back-to-back events. Though NXT and AEW fans should be used to it, since 2025 has seen AEW versus NXT several times.

Anyway, WWE acquired AAA in April during WrestleMania weekend. The company announced on Monday that over the weekend, the first TripleMania under its acquisition broke some major records, including the highest gate record and the highest attendance for any Mexican lucha libre show in 2025. The attendance was 19,691.

The First Match At Worlds Collide & The First Event Ever

Along with the date and location, WWE also announced one of its first matches for the event. It appears that Dominik Mysterio is getting a second chance at capturing the AAA Mega Championship. It will be AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo defending against Mysterio. Last Saturday at TripleMania XXXIII, Mysterio was in a four-way match for the title. Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano were also in the title match.

During the intense match, Mysterio was close to winning the title, but his nemesis, AJ Styles, was there to make sure that didn’t happen. Now Dominik gets a second chance, though it won’t be an easy match.

This upcoming event marks the second one that AAA and WWE have done together. The first event was on June 7, 2025, and took place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. At that event, El Hijo del Vikingo successfully defended his title against Chad Gable. Another title match that was on the card was a Fatal Four-Way match with the WWE NXT North American Title on the line. It ended with Ethan Page successfully defending his title against Rey Fenix, Laredo Kid, and Je’Von Evans. So in the end, fans of both AAA and WWE won't want to miss this next PLE.
