WWE's Robert Roode has undergone spinal fusion surgery. 

Roode, who has been out of action since June of this year, announced on his Instagram account Friday that he has had surgery on his cervical spine fusing the C5/C6 vertebrae. 

Dr. Andy Cordover of the renowned Andrews Sports Medicine team in Birmingham, Alabama performed the surgery.

Roode posted:

C5/6 fusion is complete. Now the work begins.

Roode has been on WWE's main roster since 2017. He signed with the company in 2016 and had a run on the NXT brand in 2016-2017, including holding the NXT Championship for 200-plus days. Roode's main roster title history includes two Raw Tag Team title reigns, a SmackDown tag team title reign, and a United States Championship reign. 

Prior to his WWE run, Roode was an Impact Wrestling/TNA mainstay, holding Tag Team titles in that promotion six times, as well as two reigns with the TNA World title.
