WWE 2K26 may not officially be released until tomorrow, but a lot of you have already been playing for the past week since picking up one of the more expensive editions, granting you a whole week of early access. That means some of you have already made decent progress through season one's Ringside Pass, possibly by gaming the system and picking on Eric Bischoff.
To progress through the Ringside Pass, you need to earn RXP. You can accrue RXP in pretty much every game mode, and even just by playing in regular exhibition matches. Keen to figure out the quickest way to earn the most RXP to unlock everything ASAP, players discovered and shared the potent combo of turning up submission strength and then unleashing their newfound power on poor old Bischoff.
As highlighted by VGC, WWE 2K26 has gameplay sliders that can be fiddled with so that submissions are more powerful. Once the slider has been pushed as high as it will go, players have been facing off against Bischoff, the lowest-rated player on the roster. The powerful submission, combined with Bischoff's low rating, means you can make him tap almost instantly. That, in turn, earns you 85 RXP for a win that the 2K developers assumed would be far harder to earn.
That is no longer possible thanks to the version 1.04 patch that has been rolled out today ahead of tomorrow's launch. There is good news on the RXP front that comes with today's patch, too, though. Those who mainly stick to Play Now's exhibition matches, but haven't been battling Bischoff, have complained that RXP is too hard to come by, and that these first few days of trying to unlock everything have been a real grind.
2K has responded to that by upping the rewards you get for competing in and winning Play Now matches by increasing the RXP you're awarded by 20 percent. Once the update has been applied, you'll get 30 RXP for competing in a match instead of 25 RXP, and 115 RXP if you win instead of the 85 RXP per victory that's been handed out during 2K26's first week. You will also be able to start earning RXP through matches with custom rules starting today, as that wasn't possible before.
WWE 2K26's Ringside Pass has been a controversial topic during the build to the game's release. It has effectively replaced 2K's traditional DLC model as all of the additional Superstars being added to the game post-launch can only be unlocked through the Pass's premium track. That means paying for the pass and then still having to earn RXP to unlock the DLC wrestlers. That won't change, but I imagine there will be various tweaks to how RXP is earned during the game's first few weeks.
