The Germaine Pratt situation with the Las Vegas Raiders escalated far quicker than anticipated.
During his press conference on Monday, Raiders head coach Pete Carroll announced that the team was releasing Pratt.

The first signs of trouble came on Friday, when Pratt did not travel with the Raiders to Indianapolis and was ruled out for the game against the Colts.
When asked about the veteran linebacker after the disastrous 40-6 loss, Carroll was quick to explain his reasoning.
“Just decided to go with the other guys,” Carroll said, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Pratt signed with the Raiders back in June after being cut by the Cincinnati Bengals, with the expectation that he would shore up a linebacking corps that had some questions attached. However, Pratt struggled to begin the season against both the run and the pass, leading to what was clearly a demotion that the veteran did not take kindly to.
Pratt now joins Christian Wilkins as defensive starters who have been released since the beginning of training camp, and the fact that this is happening to core players as often as it has is deeply concerning.
