Stefon Diggs makes big admission about Patriots' upset win over Bills

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs took full advantage of his revenge game opportunity against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, and he made a big admission about the game after it was over.

Diggs had a game-high 10 catches for 146 yards in New England's 23-20 upset win over the Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y. Many expected the former Pro Bowl wideout to have added motivation in his return to Buffalo, and the performance suggested that was the case.

In a postgame interview with NBC's Melissa Stark, Diggs was asked if going up against the Bills felt "personal" for him. The 31-year-old did not hesitate with his response.

"100 percent. Obviously I love those guys, still got a good relationship with those guys. I've got a lot of respect for them, but I love the game of football more," Diggs said. "Every time I go out here I'm trying to prove it, not only to them but to myself."

Stefon Diggs is starting to find his groove in New England

Diggs made it clear with his sideline enthusiasm and body language that he had some added juice for Sunday night's game, but his strong play was a continuation of Week 4. After tearing his ACL midway through the 2024 season, Diggs might finally be starting to feel back to full strength.

He also eclipsed the 100-yard receiving mark in New England's win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, when he had six catches for 101 yards. Diggs had 57 or fewer receiving yards in the three games before that. Though it would hardly be a surprise if Sunday night's game winds up being Diggs' best of the season, Patriots fans are hoping the back-to-back weeks of elite No. 1 wide receiver production were not a fluke.
