Adam Azim Refutes Injury Claims Over Harlem Eubank Fight

Harlem Eubank is one of several fighters against whom Adam Azim has directed verbal jabs. The latest accusation is that Eubank pulled out of a fight with Azim due to an injury. The two fighters first faced off at the O2 Arena in March, during the event headlined by the Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke fight. Despite the tension and confrontation, there was no official announcement or formal confirmation of a fight between them.

Adam Azim’s Upcoming Fight: Eubank’s New Opponent

A year later and both fighters are on their own roads. Adam Azim will fight with Ohara Davies on October 19 and Harlem Eubank with French rival Nurali Erdogan only on October 25. This is why he has waded into Boxing News to make a statement that all the blame does not rest on him. Adam Azim responded to claims that he pulled out due to an injury, stating that

His side is totally wrong because he didn’t want the fight, Azim told Boxing News this week. I wanted the fight. The fight was done, it was all done and he’s the one [who] decided to pull out the fight. The fight was initially going to be October 5 in Brighton and it was going be at catchweight so he had no excuse about the weight, he had no excuse about where it was going to be but he probably wanted to take a different route.

Adam Azim expressed respect for Eubank and affirmed his desire for the fight to eventually take place. Adam Azim said that he was not quite interested in the fight overall. Although, it was first decided to be done in October in the arena of Brighton. He further concluded that

I got respect for him he’s got respect for me. The fight’s going to happen one day and I wish him the best of luck. And whenever that fight is going to happen it’s going to happen.

Now they are different and they have chosen different directions, but he is still looking forward to a day he will fight Eubank. It has not discouraged him from the fight and he has kept on saying that he is waiting for the fight to happen some time in the future.

This statement from Adam Azim is quite understandable and true when it comes to the negotiations that surround the sport of boxing, however, this is to mean that while there may be failures, respect among the boxers is still very important. Not only have fans of the sport looked forward to them getting a chance to fighting each other as they advance in their career, however even as Adam Azim and Eubank are still to fight, everybody, including analysts is looking forward to their future fight.
