Conor Benn has hinted that despite his recent signing with Zuffa Boxing, it may not mean the end of his time with Matchroom Boxing.

Earlier this week, the boxing world was hit with the huge news that ‘The Destroyer’ has signed a contract with Zuffa Boxing.

Although the majority of the boxing world was excited by the news, Matchroom boxing promoter Eddie Hearn was extremely upset to find out one of his biggest stars had left his stable to join a rival.

Despite that, Conor Benn has explained how his signing with Zuffa Boxing may not mark the end of the road with Matchroom.

Benn hints a future return to Matchroom Boxing

Soon after the news of his signing surfaced, reports claimed that the 29-year-old had only signed a one fight contract with Zuffa worth $15 million.

And with that, Benn has hinted that despite his signing with Dana White, it may not mean the end of the road with Matchroom and Hearn.

“I didn’t cho0se not to speak to him, I didn’t want to go into the details of it,” Benn told boxing king media when asked why he didn’t have a conversation with Hearn beforehand.

“I think things were very heated with the teams, and knowing how I am as an individual, would the call have been beneficial? Would the call have been great for us? And I personally don’t think it would have.

“But once the dust had settled and it had calmed down I messaged Eddie saying, ‘I love you mate, and you know, this isn’t the end of the road, you know, the journey does continue’.

“When things get heated, I’ve said things in the moment, from previous experiences where, you know, you regret saying them. Why speak in the midst of hurt, ego, pride, anger? Nothing good comes from it.

“I think we both could’ve dealt with it better privately,” Benn continued.

Over the past few months, Hearn and White have constantly butted heads and the two continue to trade barbs in the media.

Because of that, it is unclear whether Hearn would take Benn back following his business with Zuffa Boxing.

Who will Conor Benn fight in his Zuffa Boxing debut?

Following his WBC world welterweight title win this past weekend, Ryan Garcia was called out by Benn who told him to keep his belt warm.

Despite that, Zuffa won’t recognize the sanctioning bodies, making it unclear whether a fight between the two could take place under the promotion.
