Matias Beats Puello In A ‘Close’ Decision To Become WBC Champ

Subriel Matias defeated Alberto Puello to become the WBC Junior Welterweight Champion via a majority decision,114-114, and 115-113 (twice), as you can see how the fight transpired.

Puello was making the second defense of the belt, having beaten Gary Antuanne Russell and Sandor Martin, respectively. Those wins took his record to 24-0, with ten wins by knockout. Puello is known for his technical prowess, defensive skill, and ring generalship. In contrast, Matias is a hard-hitting puncher with a 100% knockout ratio in his 22 wins. Matias was the former IBF Junior Welterweight Champion, who lost his belt to Liam Paro. Since then, Matias had beaten Roberto Ramirez and Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela to secure another title shot.
