Katie Taylor (23-1, 6 KOs) and Amanda Serrano (46-2-1, 30 KOs) will face each other in the ring once again.
The two women meet on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Taylor’s undisputed super lightweight championship will be at stake. The fight joins a clash between Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs, 2 NCs) and Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs) that is to be broadcast on Netflix around the world.
Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano Joins Mike Tyson-Jake Paul
Previously, Netflix announced that Tyson-Paul would headline a card that they would broadcast. The exact nature of that fight remains unclear as this article goes published. There has been no confirmation as to whether this would be an exhibition or professional bout. One thing that is clear, however, is that Taylor-Serrano will be a sanctioned fight.
“This is the rematch the world has wanted to see, and I’m delighted that it’s finally happening,” Taylor said to Netflix. “The first fight in New York was obviously an epic occasion and it more than lived up to the billing, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different.”
“Finally!!!” said Serrano in a statement posted to X. “I promised my fans this rematch and I wanted it to be 12×3 minute rounds. But Katie wanted 10×2 – she’s the champ, so that is what we will do.”
“I believe I won our first fight, but I didn’t get the decision. This time I’m not leaving it to the judges. No more sweet Serrano. War mentality activated.”

A most anticipated rematch
The first fight between Taylor and Serrano wound up being an entertaining scrap. In a close encounter, Taylor remained the undisputed lightweight champion with a split decision win. Since then, she has fought three times. In the last defence of her titles at 135, the Irish fighter won a unanimous decision against Karen Carbajal. After that, she fought Chantelle Cameron, losing a majority decision in Dublin, Ireland. Taylor then won the rematch via majority decision to become undisputed at 140.
Since the loss to Taylor, Serrano has won all four of her fights by unanimous decision. The first three fights saw the Puerto Rican defend her undisputed status at featherweight. She then took on Danila Ramos in a bout that was fought over 12 three-minute rounds that the WBC did not sanction (as such only the IBF, WBA and WBO titles were at stake). Serrano was then supposed to defend those titles in a homecoming clash against Nina Meinke on March 2. However, a late injury to Serrano saw the fight get cancelled.
