Anthony Joshua came close to blows with one of his biggest rivals.
At his sparkling best, the Brit was a truly terrifying competitor, with devastating power in his hands.
Joshua savagely knocked out Alexander Povetkin and captured the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles.
However, while his resume is undeniably stacked, there was one fight the boxer wanted that never came to fruition.
WOW: Boxer who fought Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua said surprise fighter hits harder than both
Back in 2019, Anthony Joshua was scheduled to go to war against Jarrell Miller, until the American tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, which ultimately resulted in the cancellation of the contest.
However, before that news came to life, the pair filmed an episode of ‘The Gloves Are Off’ that never aired, which, according to ‘Big Baby’, nearly resulted in a brawl.
In an interview with Boxing Scene, Miller reminisced: “I said, ‘I’ll slap the s— out of you’, I was like, ‘Say I won’t slap you’. He never said it because I was going to slap the s— out of him.
“I’m always a madman. He was in New York and trying to act tough. Security, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom were trying to keep my team back, and his security guard was close.
“I had about 40 people down the block waiting to rush his whole squad. There was going to be some real Brooklyn s— in that motherf—– to tell you the truth, but we kept composed and he backed down like a little b—- as always.”
Joshua isn’t the only fighter who’s had issues with Miller over the years.
Deontay Wilder seriously dislikes his countryman.
The pair regularly throw verbal bombs in each other’s directions.
Prior to his win over Tyrrell Herndon, Wilder explained why it’s ‘on sight’ with Miller.
