The British Boxing Board of Control has handed out a 28 day suspension to Anthony Joshua. The suspension is due to Joshua suffering a knockout and it’s customary for boxers to receive a light suspension.
Joshua suffered a brutal 5th round KO to IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. Considering how poorly Joshua looked, a lot of people have been speculating what the future holds for the former unified champion. At this point of his career it’s pretty clear that he will not be in contention for another title shot. Unless someone is going to leverage his name for a big paycheck and beat him down making easy work for the fading fighter.

After suffering a brutal knockout you would assume that Joshua was leaning towards walking off into the sunset but you know what they say about assumptions right? Joshua chimed in on that matter after the post fight conference.
“You’re probably asking, do I still want to continue fighting?” Joshua said at the post fight conference. “Of course I want to continue fighting. We took a shot at success and we came up short. What does that mean now? Are we going to run away? We’re going to live to fight another day. That’s what I am a warrior.
That mentality is what made Joshua a champion and the face of Great Britain boxing in the first place. But at this point his best days are way behind him and hopefully he’s looking at life after boxing. There’s nothing harder than watching a former great champion refusing to hang up the gloves. At this point Anthony Joshua is walking that fine line.
