Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) doesn’t just want to beat Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs); he wants to dish out something a lot more sinister. With barely a few days left for fight night, Joshua doubled down on his decision for total destruction, which might not just be a physical one.

The duo sat down together for an iconic face-to-face ahead of their showdown. In conversation, Joshua opened up about his plans to decimate Paul on fight night.

“I think Jake is someone where I’ve got to beat him mentally, because he’s a mental person. If I can break his soul, and I can break his mentality, then I’ve broken Jake,” he said. “That’s why I say I’ve got to take his soul. It’s not just physical, I’ve got to take your soul in the ring.”

While Joshua has made a rather Luciferian claim, he is very capable of the soul-taking he talks about. With an experience spanning almost half of Paul’s lifetime, Joshua had already made a name for himself in the professional boxing world by 2013, with a first-round TKO against Emanuele Leo, a time when ‘The Problem Child’ was barely starting his career on Vine.

Talking about his ring intuitions, Joshua claimed that he has often seen auric energies leaving fighters’ bodies, a fate that he wishes to mete out to Paul.

“You can just see a small glimmer of someone that’s just about to start fading, and then you just keep exploiting that, keep exploiting that, keep exploiting that until some people give up. Some people get knocked out. We’ll figure out,”Joshua added. “I want to break him down spiritually and mentally.”

“It’s Always Been A Money Grab”

Meanwhile, Joshua doesn’t shy away from admitting that his fight against Paul is mainly for the hefty purse on the table. During the same interview, he revealed that he has been rather proficient at identifying cash grabs in the world of boxing.

“Before I came into boxing, I knew how to make money. So, it’s always been a money grab, 100 percent. And I think now, this generation is really showing you have to have your Ps and Qs in order, get your money, and also work hard, and leave the game with your brains and your money intact,” he said. “So, it’s a money grab, it’s legacy, it’s a fight, it’s war. That’s what we’re going to war for, to get the goods.”
