Anthony Joshua’s promoter has finally addressed the rumours surrounding a potential fight with Jake Paul.

Since Anthony Joshua turned professional in 2013, his career has been overseen by Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sports.

Hearn is reportedly negotiating a deal that could result in his client making tens of millions of dollars from a fight with Jake Paul later this year.

Reports emerged on Wednesday claiming that talks were progressing well, with an eight-round bout set for Miami next month.

Just a day after the initial reports, Hearn has addressed the rumours surrounding a possible bout between Paul and Joshua.

He confirmed that while discussions are taking place, nothing is close to being finalised at this stage.

Hearn explained on talkSPORT: “The gun was jumped a little bit and fired early.

“There have been conversations. We’re considering it and, at the moment, there is work to be done.

“But, could it happen? Yes, it could.

“Should Jake Paul be fighting Anthony Joshua? No.

“Is he [Paul] mad to do it? Yes.

“Is there tens and tens and tens and tens of millions of dollars for Anthony Joshua to have an 8-round run out against Jake Paul? Yes.”

Jake Paul’s bold prediction

Despite his limited experience, Paul seems confident about his chances against the former two-time heavyweight world champion.

‘The Problem Child’ even shared a bold prediction eight months ago, when the fight was only a remote possibility.

“I want to fight Anthony Joshua, because I know I will f—— beat Anthony Joshua’s a–.

“He doesn’t have a chin, and he’s got no skill, and he’s stiff.

“I love you, Anthony. We’re friends, but I want to fight you.”
