Artur Beterbiev posted a gym video nearly 600 days after his last fight.
"While the bunnies are running, we're working," Beterbiev
He didn't name anyone, though the timing invites comparison to Dmitry Bivol. Bivol's manager, Vadim Kornilov, told The Ring that a trilogy is being explored for spring 2027, though no fight has been announced.
Beterbiev hasn't fought since losing the February 2025 rematch to Bivol, a gap of 591 days as of October 6. A spring 2027 trilogy could push his layoff past two years, and he turns 42 in January.
By holding out for the Bivol fight rather than taking a tune-up, he's gone without live rounds or a chance to work through any issues exposed in the loss, something gym footage can't replace.
