Callum Walsh Wins On Zuffa Boxing’s First Event

Callum Walsh secured a unanimous decision win against Carlos Ocampo in Zuffa Boxing’s first event: 98-90, 98-90, 97-91.

The 24-year-old Walsh returned to the 160-pound middleweight division following a career-best performance last September. In that outing—a unanimous decision win over Fernando Vargas Jr. on the Canelo-Crawford undercard—Walsh proved he could handle the pressure of the big stage.

However, Ocampo (35-3, 26 KOs) represented the most significant hurdle of Walsh’s career. The Mexican brought a wealth of elite experience to the ring: Ocampo’s only professional losses were against world champions Errol Spence Jr., Sebastian Fundora, and Tim Tszyu.
