Even boxing star Amanda Serrano couldn't believe the brutal eye cut she suffered during her highly anticipated rematch with Katie Taylor.

The injury, caused by a clash of heads early in the bout, worsened as the fight went on, drawing both concern and disgust from viewers. Despite the alarming wound, Serrano continued to press forward.

After the fight, Serrano was finally able to see her face and the cut she sustained during the showdown.

Sure enough, it's safe to say that even the Puerto Rican boxing great didn't expect the severity of the wound she had. Her face said it all, as she grimaced at the sight of her right eye.

Amanda Serrano, unfortunately, lost the fight via unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 95-94 in favor of Katie Taylor.

Speaking in her post-fight interview, Serrano admitted that the cut and the blood that got in her eye really affected her performance. It's worth noting that Serrano still landed more punches (324 out of 734 thrown) compared to Taylor (217 out of 529 thrown).

Whenever you get a cut, it bothers you. Blood gets in your eye, and it hurts,” the 36-year-old boxer shared.

While Serrano lost, she still got the respect and admiration of fans, as she showcased her resilience and never-say-die attitude amid adversity.
