Canelo Alvarez didn’t hold back when asked about Jake Paul’s continued callouts. Following his last defeat against Terence Crawford, the Mexican superstar suggested Paul keep bringing his name up because it helps business more than anything else.
“They need to talk about me to sell tickets and pay-per-view,” Canelo said. “I don’t think Jake Paul sells so much tickets for his company, and that’s why he bring up that situation.”
The comment was aimed at the long-running chatter surrounding a possible mega fight between the two, including reports about a rumored $200 million offer tied to the matchup. Paul has repeatedly pushed for the fight in interviews and on social media, presenting it as one of the biggest events boxing could make.

Canelo, though, has never seemed too interested. The undisputed super middleweight champion has often brushed aside influencer boxing conversations and stayed focused on legacy fights inside the sport. From his point of view, Paul mentioning his name is more about headlines and sales than an actual rivalry.
Even so, the exchange keeps fans talking. Paul has undeniably become one of boxing’s biggest attractions when it comes to attention and pay-per-view buzz, while Canelo remains one of the sport’s most respected champions. Whether the fight ever happens or not, neither side seems ready to stop throwing shots outside the ring.
At 35 years old, Canelo Alvarez has already gone through the kind of boxing career that usually leaves permanent damage behind. He turned pro as a teenager, fought through nearly 70 bouts, and spent more than two decades taking hits from some of the best fighters in the world. That’s why his latest health update surprised so many people.
Canelo recently spoke about visiting a longevity clinic in Switzerland, where he underwent detailed medical testing, including brain scans. According to him, doctors found no signs of lasting brain trauma despite the mileage on his body from years in the ring.

He also said his biological age was measured at 26, much younger than his actual age, and claimed there were no signs of chronic inflammation either. For a boxer with such a long career, those results are unusual enough to grab attention.
In past generations, many fighters finished their careers carrying obvious physical damage. But athletes today have access to recovery methods, nutrition plans, conditioning programs, and medical monitoring that simply didn’t exist before.
Canelo has clearly bought into that side of modern sports. His interest in longevity and health optimization now puts him in the same conversation as figures like Bryan Johnson, who have built entire lifestyles around slowing down aging and maximizing physical performance.
