Canelo’s fight with Miguel Cotto was almost derailed by an embarrassing accident minutes before the bout

Canelo will make his bid to become a two-time undisputed super-middleweight champion against William Scull this Saturday. He is already the only boxer to become undisputed in the division at all. Canelo has built up a record of 62-2-2, putting on dominant displays over a host of world champions and seasoned fighters. Canelo has beaten Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Callum Smith, Billy Joe Saunders, Gennady Golovkin, Sergey Kovalev and Miguel Cotto amongst many others. It was minutes ahead of the Cotto fight, though, that Canelo encountered a unique yet embarrassing problem. After wrapping his hands, lacing up his gloves, and putting on his cup, Canelo, who KO’d Rocky Fielding after his won over Golovkin, was ready and raring to go against the 40-4 veteran.
