The Ring Magazine has revealed that Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn II is set for November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It had seemed that The Ring, Sela and Riyadh Season would not be involved, but a deal has now been reached. Ahead of this highly anticipated rematch, Betfair have revealed its early betting odds on the fight.
Turki Alalshikh recently appeared on ThaBoxingVoice podcast, where Nestor Gibbs asked him about the Eubank-Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) rematch, earlier set for September 20: “We stuck to date, we closed the date. We know that’s in that schedule, the fights must happen. If someone not commenting this, this is not our job, we are not charity,” said Alalshikh, seemingly pulling the plug on the rematch.
The on-again, off-again rematch now appears to be firmly back on, with Sela acting as the lead promoter and Ring Magazine and Riyadh Season confirmed as event sponsors.
April 26 will go down in history as one of the most entertaining all-British fights of all time. It was a spicy build-up to the first fight, with Chris Eubank Sr making a memorable appearance on fight night. Eubank Jr (35-3, 25 KOs) ultimately did enough and won by unanimous decision, with scorecards of 116-112 x3. Both had their moments during the 12 rounds and came out of the fight with plenty of credit. The question now is whether the rematch can surpass the first fight.
Attention now turns to Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2, and the odds are out, with Eubank Jr. favored to win again:
Chris Eubank Jr: 8/15
Draw: 16/1
Conor Benn: 6/4
