Chris Eubank Jr., recently revealed that he and his father do not speak, and he is outraged at his father. While Chris was trained by his father earlier, they are not on speaking terms now, and Eubank stopped managing him in 2019. The younger Eubank was very open about problems in their relationship, as well as burdens of family tragedies and difficulties in promoting a boxing career without a father’s help.

Chris Eubank’s Family Tensions and Separation

Chris Eubank Jr. has said that he and his father are no longer on speaking terms, let alone friends as it was in the past. Their conflict started emerging in recent years, with Eubank coming out in the open to disapprove of the June 2022 scheduled fight between him and Conor Benn. The match that would have been a repeat of the contemporary fight between Chris Eubank and Conor Benn’s father, Nigel Benn, was canceled after Conor tested positive for drug use twice. The fight was expected as an intensified rivalry of the family drama and disappointment of Chris added further estrangement from his son.

Family Tragedy Worsens the Divide

The rift between Chris Eubank Jr. and his father deepened further due to personal losses. Unfortunately, in 2021, his brother Sebastian died at the tender age of 29 while in Dubai. This loss was tragic for the whole family, and in 2023, another misfortune happened to the family in 2023 when Chris’s elder brother Simon died at the age of 63. These tragedies, instead of drawing the father and son closer together, apparently contributed to the gulf between them being widened more.

It has been quite unfortunate for Chris Eubank Jr. to lose his father and for him also to say that he felt sad over his father’s absence, not to mention the death of his brother. He failed to understand why his father would have to phase out the rest of his children during such a crucial moment. He remains optimistic that eventually, Kell Brook’s father will start supporting him, but he is well aware that at the moment the two do not even speak frequently and there is tension between them.

A Focus on Career and Independence

Nonetheless, Chis Eubank Jr. has not let problems in his personal life affect his boxing career. He won by decision against Liam Smith in 2023 and knocked out Kamil Szeremeta in October. A few matches are in the pipeline, with Conor Benn daring to fight his suspension in the UK, so the possibility of another rescheduled fight remains. He said that he would want his father to be included in the hype surrounding this possible fight due to animosity between these two families. But he is not sure whether his father is willing to do so.

He has accepted the reality that he cannot make his father appear as he wants; thus, the absence of his father could not be more true. Although he sometimes decides to call him, he mostly gets only short answers back. This lack of communication has been tough, but he has decided to concentrate on his career and the future of the sport. He states that he has to be strong in his career.

Conclusion

Chris Eubank has learned to live with the opposition he has for his father, choosing to focus on boxing. While the young man is experiencing all the accelerated growth of a person’s emotions and his family’s disastrous reality, he insists on becoming a decision-maker. As Chris Eubank Jr. may face Conor Benn in the future, he keeps on aiming for victory and, while waiting for if they will resolve their conflict and reconcile, he prepares for it on his own. Careers have always remained in the spotlight for him as he tries to figure out how to make it on his own after losing his father.
