Julio César Chávez Jr. will headline on April 25, 2026, from the Estadio Adolfo López Mateos in Mexico against Jhon Caicedo in a 10-round cruiserweight clash.

Chavez looks to build on the momentum of his fourth-round knockout victory over Angel Julian Sacco this past January. The win was his first since a unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul last summer. Caicedo’s only career defeat came in his last outing—a third-round stoppage against Avni Yildirim.

Following his loss to Jake Paul in California last June, Chávez Jr. was arrested and detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). While he was released on August 24, 2025, he remains under federal scrutiny. He is currently fighting a legal battle involving allegations of Sinaloa cartel ties and the trafficking of firearms, ammunition, and explosives, but another win would be a step in the right direction. Chavez Jr.’s wife, Frida Muñoz, opened up on the boxer’s current battle.

Mindset

“Julio is doing well. He’s positively strong. But we’re taking it one day at a time. It changed completely our life. But we’re trying to be also positive… being on God’s hand and waiting for him to come in the future. We’re waiting for the lawyers. Just to do one step at a time.

“Mexico has a very dangerous situation for everyone who lives there. So as a wife, for sure, I am worried for the security of all my family who lives there. He recorded a video saying, ‘Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for always being there for me [for his fans.],” Frida stated
