According to the Detroit Free Press, Claressa Shields is plotting a return to Detroit and promises major fireworks.

Shields is a Flint, Michigan native and is one of the best top boxers right now.

Shields is scheduled to face off in Detroit against New Zealand brawler Lani Daniels. Shields will be putting up her undisputed heavyweight title against Daniels.

Shields won the title in February, defeating Danille Perkins in her hometown of Fint.

“This will be one of my biggest fights yet,” Shields told the Free Press on May 9. “So you want to be there and I’m going to prepare to give you guys a spectacular knockout.”

Shields is recovering from a torn labrum that she suffered while training for her fight against Perkins.

Sheilds tells media that she will be completely healthy by July in time for the fight.

Setting up the fight with Daniels seemed flawless. Daniels has been looking to fight Shields for more than a year.

“I’m happy that I was able to get this second date and have an opponent who’s willing and ready to dance with me on July 26,” Shields said. “Lani has belts. She’s got light heavyweight, which the same weight class as heavyweight in women’s boxing, sadly. For some organizations, 175 (pounds) is light heavyweight and then other organizations, it’s 175 for heavyweight.”
