Andrew Tate, the 39-year-old former world kickboxing champion, suffered a shock loss to reality TV star Chase DeMoor at Misfits Mania in Dubai.
Tate, who recently made headlines by declaring himself the new CEO of Misfits Boxing, challenged DeMoor for the heavyweight title. However, the five-year layoff showed. While Tate started strong in the opening rounds, using his experience to land crisp body shots, the tide turned violently in the third. DeMoor—the much larger and more active fighter—began to impose his will, rocking Tate with heavy combinations and a massive fifth-round uppercut that nearly ended the night.
By the final bell, Tate was visibly exhausted, sporting a deep gash over his right eye and significant swelling. DeMoor secured the majority decision victory, successfully defending his Misfits Heavyweight Championship and handing Tate his first professional boxing defeat. The scorecards were as follows: Judge 1: 58-56 (DeMoor), Judge 2: 58-56 (DeMoor) and Judge 3: 57-57 (Draw). Following the loss, Tate pointed to the 20kg weight disadvantage and the 10-year age gap as deciding factors, while also suggesting this might be his final walk to the ring.
