Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will return to the ring on April 4, when he faces longtime contender Derek Chisora at London’s O2 Arena, it was announced Friday.

The bout will headline Misfits Boxing’s first-ever professional boxing event and will stream live on DAZN. Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) enters the fight seeking his second consecutive victory after a turbulent stretch that saw him go 1-4 between 2020 and 2024, following a dominant start to his career at 42-0-1.

During that period, Wilder suffered back-to-back knockout losses to Tyson Fury, rebounded with a first-round knockout of Robert Helenius, then dropped decision and knockout losses to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang. He returned to the win column in June with a knockout victory over Tyrrell Herndon.

At 40 years old, Wilder will also be fighting in the United Kingdom for the first time in 12 years, having last competed there in 2013 against Audley Harrison.

Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs), 42, enters the matchup riding a three-fight winning streak, with victories over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin since suffering a knockout loss to Fury in 2022.

A fixture of the heavyweight scene for more than a decade. Chisora has faced elite competition throughout his career, including bouts against Oleksandr Usyk, Parker, Dillian Whyte, and Vitali Klitschko.

Misfits Pro Launches With Heavyweight Headliner

The announcement comes amid recent rumors linking Wilder to a potential fight with Usyk. Instead, Wilder will now serve as the marquee name for Misfits Boxing’s first fully professional event. Signaling the promotion’s push beyond crossover and influencer bouts.
