Devin Haney (31-0-1, 15 KOs) is done playing games.

‘The Dream’ faced Ryan Garcia (24-1-1, 20 KOs) at the Barclays Center in New York City in April 2024. Garcia was declared the winner by decision at the end of 12 rounds. However, the decision was soon overturned and the bout was changed to a no-contest after Garcia tested positive for Ostarine. Moreover, he was fined $1.1 million and suspended for a year and now, with the end date for Garcia’s suspension inching closer, Haney opened up about the prospect of a rematch.

Haney was recently in London to meet with Turki Alalshikh. Talking to Boxing News, he delved into his “biggest fight” and what he would like to do differently this time around. “The biggest fight. He’s got to be clean. That’s the only way a rematch can happen, but that’s a fight that I would love to make in 2025. Maybe we can make it, but I just want to be on an even playing field,” he said talking about fighting Garcia again.

On the other hand, Haney was recently offered a deal with BLK Prime to fight on their network. And his visit to London was to see if Alalshikh had a better deal to offer him. “I’m here to meet with His Excellency Turki Al-Shiekh to try and make a deal happen. If not, I’ve got a deal with BLK Prime, who is willing to give me what I want. We can go that route. I’m here for a reason, and we can make it happen,”he said.

“That Fight Took Nothing Out of Me”

Meanwhile, Haney has a message for the boxing community: the Garcia fight hasn’t affected him as a boxer. Talking to the Independent, Haney revealed that while he had to take time off the ring to heal and decompress after the initial decision, it was still a good experience for him. Moreover, he added that he wants to regain everything he lost in that fight.

“I want to make big fights happen, get back everything I lost in that fight. I want the world to see I’m still a force to be reckoned with, I’m still one of the best fighters in the world, and that fight took nothing out of me. That’s important for me to prove to the world, prove to myself,” he said.
