Dillian Whyte landed a very controversial punch in a first-round stoppage win.
Throughout his career, the Brixton brawler’s power has never been questioned.
Whyte has dropped the granite-chinned Joseph Parker, and put Derek Chisora out cold.
However, one of his knockout wins certainly didn’t go down well with the fans.
WOW: Dillian Whyte stopped KO artist who said everyone he fought said he’s the ‘hardest puncher ‘
On May 19, 2012, Dillian Whyte battled it out with Zurab Noniashvili at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, UK.
From the first bell, the Englishman started looking for the knockout, finding a body shot inside just 40 seconds that sent his opponent to one knee.
However, rather than letting the referee start the count, the fighter launched a huge uppercut while his rival was down.
While the Georgian beat the count, the referee waved it off, awarding Whyte the win.
However, fans thought the British-Jamaican should’ve been disqualified, with many taking to social media to voice their concerns.
An enraged individual said: “The most blatant DQ I’ve ever seen,” while another added: “Dillian got very lucky there.”
A third questioned: “Anyone else think that fight shouldn’t have been stopped and that uppercut should’ve been penalized?”
Whyte’s early career was full of knockouts.
In his last fight before facing Anthony Joshua, the power puncher took a big step up in competition.
The warrior set foot inside the ring against a man with far superior experience.
Showcasing his talent, Whyte stopped a former world title challenger.
