Fight fans were expecting to see a super fight at light heavyweight. The undisputed championship bout between Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs) and Artur Beterbiev  (20-0, 20 KOs). Beterbiev suffered an injury during training camp, Bivol proceeded to fight Malik Zinad and knocked him out in the 6th round. Bivol’s dominate win allows the fight between the two champions will be rescheduled on October 12th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Critics have been questioning Bivol’s punching power due to his low KO rate but the champ is confident in his power. “I believe that my power is every time with me,” Bivol said. “I didn’t have doubts, of course my power is with me.”

Beterbiev and Bivol’s manager, Vadim Kornilov, gave an update on when the contest could take place. “There’s been discussions of October, November, but definitely before the end of the year.” “Right now we’re focusing on tomorrow night, after that I’m pretty confident it will happen.”His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has mentioned before this is one of the most exciting fights that he’s been waiting for. I really think that he’s been waiting for this fight personally, once he wants something he doesn’t let it get away. “So I think it will be done.”

Undisputed company

The winner of this fight will join Naoya Inoue and Oleksandr Usyk as the only current undisputed champions in boxing. Fight fans want to see if the boxer in Bivol can fend off the KO machine in Beterbiev. If both fighters can make it out of training camp healthy, one of these fighters will be holding all of the belts moving forward in the light heavyweight division.
