Eddie Hearn has always made his thoughts on Jake Paul’s boxing career very clear, and he has now spoken out about his recently announced fight.

Last week, controversial internet sensation turned boxer Jake Paul shockingly announced that his next boxing fight will take place against world champion, Gervonta Davis.

The super fight will take place from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and will stream live on Netflix, as have ‘The Problem Child’s’ last few fights.

The fight announcement came as somewhat of a surprise as Paul was in talks to take on former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua.

Eddie Hearn breaks silence on Paul vs Davis

Throughout his career, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has criticized Paul several times for his involvement in the sport as a fighter.

Despite that, he was working closely with the 28-year-old in an attempt to negotiate the fight between him and Joshua, who is in his stable of fighters.

Although Hearn is usually critical of Paul, he was surprisingly open to a fight between Paul and Joshua despite the widespread criticism from the fans.

And now talking about Paul’s upcoming fight against ‘Tank’, Hearn has been surprisingly supportive of the idea.

“I can’t be a hypocrite and say if you’re Gervonta Davis and you’re being offered 20, 30, $40 million whatever the number is and you’re getting seven or eight to fight Lamont Roach Jr in a 50-50 fight, what are you gonna do? Maybe the kid is half checked out of the game anyway,” Hearn told Fight Hype.

“I think as long as we establish it’s not boxing, and it’s just this entertainment thing, then I get it,” Hearn continued.

Jake Paul claims fight against Anthony Joshua could still happen

Not long after the announcement, Paul claimed that a potential fight against Joshua is not dead and buried and could still take place in 2026.

Despite that, Hearn has admitted that if ‘The Problem Child’ gets beaten by ‘Tank’ then it is unlikely that he and his team will continue talks with the controversial boxer.
