The boxing schedule for the rest of 2025 is full of intriguing match-ups, and Eddie Hearn has teased a potential all-British clash. When talking to BoxingScene, the Matchroom Sport chairman has confirmed negotiations are in progress to make a fight between Jack Catterall and Harlem Eubank.
A summer fight between Catterall (30-2, 13 KOs) and Eubank is an exciting proposition, with Catterall eager to get on the comeback trail following his close defeat to Arnold Barboza Jr.
The Eubank name is bigger than ever right now, following the memorable 12-round war between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn, so a fight between his cousin Harlem and Catterall could produce big numbers.
Eubank (21-0, 9 KOs) is undefeated and produced a career-best performance last time out, dismantling the tough Belfast fighter Tyrone McKenna, stopping him in round 10.
It is thought the bout could happen in July in Manchester, with Hearn confirming to BoxingScene: “We are in negotiations – I want to make that fight.”
“One, because I think it’s a really good fight, and two, the Eubank name is hot right now, and I think it’ll be a great build-up. I think Jack needs a really good fight to come back. Harlem’s on a great run, been racking some big numbers on Channel 5. We hope to get it over the line. It’s not done yet, but hopefully – watch this space.”
Eubank is an intelligent fighter. He has quick hand speed and excellent shot selection. His left hook is one of his most effective weapons, but what impresses is his patience. He breaks down and dissects his opponents, never rushing his work. He would provide a difficult puzzle for Catterall to solve.
Catterall is as awkward as they come, fighting from the southpaw stance. His best weapon is his precise counter-punching, which judges love and his opponents hate. Jack, while not a big puncher, is accurate with his work and can keep the tempo high for 12 rounds. His slick footwork also ensures he’s a difficult target to pin down.
If the fight is made, it will be a fascinating clash of styles. Whoever settles into their rhythm first will be extremely hard to beat.
