Ahead of this heavyweight clash, both fighters and their respective teams met at a launch press conference where Eddie Hearn revealed his surprise at the fight being made.

Deal Called a Mistake by Hearn

Fabio Wardley vs Justis Huni (12-0, 7 KOs) is set for June 7 in Ipswich. It’s a clash of unbeaten heavyweights eager to move towards a world title shot, and the winner of this fight will be well-positioned for a title shot.

Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs) has already demonstrated his destructive power at a higher level, most notably with a brutal stoppage win over Frazer Clarke in their rematch. Huni is an agile heavyweight who will look to move and potshot, but does carry his own power. It’s hard to imagine the Australian fighter choosing to stand and trade with Wardley.
