Former world champion welterweight star Errol Spence Jr. is targeted to make his first outing in the ring since his infamous loss to the unbeaten Terence Crawford.
A former WBA, WBC, and IBF welterweight kingpin, Errol Spence Jr., has been sidelined for the last two years, most recently suffering a devastating knockout loss to Terence Crawford — who returns to take on Canelo Alvarez this weekend.
After seeing his unbeaten run of 28 fights coming to a stark close in his one-sided stoppage loss to Crawford, Spence Jr. has so far yet to enter the ring again.
However, according to reports, the Long Island puncher is in the works to fight a former title chaser in his next outing in the squared circle.
The subject of much discourse ahead of Crawford’s super middleweight title charge against Canelo this weekend in ‘Sin City’, the former world championship holder Spence Jr. seems to be gearing up for his own venture to the ring.
According to a report from Ring Magazine, Spence Jr. is currently targeted to make his return to boxing against Jermell Charlo, who has also been sidelined for two years after his loss to Canelo, as soon as next year.
“Errol Spence and Jermell Charlo are in talks for a fight in early 2026, Mike Coppinger has revealed on @InsideRingShow,” Ring Magazine posted on X.
