With just two months remaining before Jarrell Miller and Fabio Wardley square it off in the ring, there has been a lot of tension brewing between the two heavyweights.
It was evident when the two met at what was supposed to be a face-to-face before their match which did not happen.
Accusations and denials flew around as Miller accused Wardley of composing a diss track about him, accusations that Wardley refuted and claimed not to know anything about.
There were verbal exchanges between the two fighters, these actions escalated very quickly and turned into shouting that security had to be involved to help break the pair up.
With both fighters donning jerseys, they represented rival towns with Wardley having an Ipswich town Jersey and Miller having colors of their rival town Norwich City.
Miller was quite agitated by the diss track he that he claimed was made by Wardley and had a lot to say during the press conference.
“I was being really respectful, then he made a diss song ‘Big Baby Killer’. Where I come from, that is a death threat. I’m running you down, I’m coming to your face, plain and simple. I’m going to f*** you up,” said Miller.
Wardley thought he had heard enough of Miller’s threats and rudely interrupted.
“They call you Big Baby because you don’t shut the f*** up. You need a pacifier in your mouth,” said Wardley.
Wardley continued to deny being involved in the diss track that Miller was talking about. “I don’t do music, so whatever you have heard, it isn’t me. I haven’t done anything, if i did something, I would stand on it,” said Wardley.
It was then that Miller lunged into Wardley’s face and slapped him. Security had to intervene as both men then retreated to their seats to finish their press conference, this occurrence just meant that there would be no face-off.
The two are set for a fight on June 7th for the WBA interim title at Ipswich Town’s home stadium of Portman Road. With what happened at the press conference, I think it would be safe to say we are in for a contest on June 7th.
