Fans Predict Caleb Plant Vs. Jose Armando Resendiz

Caleb Plant boxes Jose Armando Resendiz on May 31, as boxing fans gave their predictions.

Plant, the former IBF Super Middleweight Champion, is looking to return to big-time boxing. He took a step closer to achieving that by stopping Trevor McCumby in his last fight to become the WBA Interim Super Middleweight Champion. Plant is now in a mandatory position to face the winner of Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford, who fight in September. Plant suffered his first loss against Canelo, having expressed his desire to run things back.

Resendiz enters the fight as a massive underdog. His 15-2-0 record is not the most convincing. However, Resendiz has 11 knockouts on his resume, making him an explosive puncher. He defeated Fernando Paliza in his last bout, the third opponent he has stopped in his last four. Here is how boxing fans saw the fight playing out.

Pre-Fight

“This is his moment. And I remember what it was like for me and my first big moment, how bad I wanted it and how much I knew like, ‘Man, if I get over this hump, if I get through this – which I know I will – then man, my life’s going to change forever.’ And I’m assuming that he’s feeling the same way. So I know how much he wants it, but it’s not his time. It’s not his moment. This isn’t his story. This is my story. And May 31st, I’m gonna step on him for trying to mess up everything that I worked towards. I’m gonna step on him,” Plant

“I respect everything he’s accomplished. But I didn’t take this fight to just be another name on his resume. I’ve put in the work, I’ve made the sacrifices and I’m coming in prepared to give him a tough fight. This is the kind of challenge I’ve always wanted — to go up against the best and prove I belong with the best. He’s going to remember my name forever,” Resendiz stated
