Floyd Mayweather accused of assaulting fan who asked for photo
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Floyd Mayweather Jr has been accused of assaulting a fan at a hotel over the weekend, but video evidence that has surfaced thus far appears to show that the altercation never went beyond verbal.

A 32-year-old man named Ricco Kimborough claims he recognized Mayweather at the Fontainebleau Hilton in Miami on Saturday morning and asked to take a photo with the famous boxer. According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Kimborough alleges that Mayweather turned him down and said, “I can’t even get a good morning first?” At that point, Kimborough claims Mayweather’s security team “pushed him away from Mayweather” and Floyd yelled, “I’ll beat your a–.”

Video footage obtained by TMZ appears to show Kimborough antagonizing Mayweather and not letting things go, though it’s unclear what happened before the camera was rolling. Mayweather wasn’t even near Kimborough during the video, but he did yell to Kimborough that Kimborough can “get your a– whooped for free, too” after Kimborough kept saying he’s a “free man” and can do what he wants. Kimborough then yelled to Floyd that he would get all of the undefeated champion’s money if Floyd touched him.

The Miami Beach Police Department is investigating the case as a simple assault.

Mayweather has been sued in the past for supposedly having his bodyguards beat someone up at a hotel, but it seems unlikely that he is going to face any serious legal consequences in the latest case.
