Oleksandr Usyk’s next opponent may have been decided on his latest undercard.
Frank Sanchez and Richard Torrez Jr. fought in an IBF final eliminator in Egypt on Saturday night
The end of their fight was almost as beautiful as the Pyramids of Giza, which provided the backdrop for another epic event delivered by Turki Alalshikh.
Richard Torrez Jr. was heavily backed to secure a potential fight with Oleksandr Usyk by beating Frank Sanchez.
The 26-year-old earned his favorite tag by looking close to perfect during his 14-0 run in professional boxing.
However, Torrez ended up getting brutally knocked out by Sanchez in the second round of their fight.
A short hook seemed to put him out cold, but Torrez somehow managed to scramble to his feet.
Unfortunately, he immediately collapsed back to the floor, and the referee waved off the final eliminator.
“Usyk, we are ready for you whenever you want,” Sanchez said during his post-fight interview.
OMG Frank Sanchez just knockedout Richard Torrez Jr!
