Fury-Joshua Press Conference In Doubt Amid Promotional Dispute

The first press conference between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is no longer a certainty after a promotional dispute cast doubt over their December 11 heavyweight clash in Cardiff.

Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports on Sunday that Wednesday's planned media event has not been confirmed. Asked whether Fury could proceed without Joshua's camp, Hearn said flatly that such a press conference would not exist. "There wouldn't be one without us," he told the outlet.

White Unsure Whether Fight Or Press Conference Will Proceed

The bout was announced earlier this week with Saudi financier Turki Alalshikh's The Ring and Dana White listed as co-promoters, though Hearn has publicly disputed White's involvement. Speaking after Johnny Fisher's win over Michael Pirotton on Saturday, White admitted he did not know if the fight itself would go ahead. When asked about Wednesday's press conference, he replied: "I have no idea."

White declined to confirm whether he would attend if the event does take place. "I guess I'll leave that as a surprise," he said, per Sky Sports.

The Fury-Joshua rivalry stretches back more than a decade. The fight was formally announced for the Principality Stadium less than 48 hours before the promotional row erupted, raising questions about whether the December date will hold.
