Hughie is yet to open his 2025 account after he pulled out of a fight that was to happen on the 5th of April against Joe Joyce, when the fighter succumbed to an injury on his fingers during a gym session.

30 yr old Hughie is cousin to former world heavy weight champion Tyson and is eager to represent his family by putting his name out there and coming out of the shadows of his cousin who is well known around the continent.

Hughie had a busy 2024, having three fights and winning all of them. The fights came against Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko in April 24th at Newcastle Arena, Newcastle. The second fight came against Patrick Korte just a month later in May 24 at the Cardiff International Arena in Cardiff and his most recent was on 24th of September at Park Community Arena in Sheffield and came against Christian Thun.

Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) has emerged as the front runner to face Hughie in the main event in Ireland as the two camps are in talks and this would be a good way back to talks of a world title challenge opportunity.

GBM Sports, current promoters of Hughie Fury, will be staging an event at Pearse Stadium, Galway in July and Hughie Fury will be on the card.

“We have several names in contention as an opponent, all of whom are well known. Dillian Whyte is a frontrunner for the slot as we believe that is a fight which would deliver massively for fans in attendance and watching around the world. We look forward to confirming further details of our Galway event in due course,” said GBM Sports’ Issrar Asif.

Hughie Fury will be facing Dan Garber in York Hall, Bethnal Green with the aim of testing himself and the recovery of his finger.
