British and Commonwealth Super Bantamweight Champion Tysie Gallagher (9-2-0) will defend her titles in a much-anticipated title defence against undefeated challenger Ebonie Jones (6-0-1) at the Eco-Power Stadium in Doncaster on May 23rd.
This contest has been pushed back twice from its originally scheduled date in February. The rivalry between the due commenced as they fought each other twice as amateurs, with Jones winning those bouts. As a professional, Jones has a ton of confidence heading into her shot at the championship.
“I had an activity, ups and downs, so I need this to kickstart my career,” said Jones to the press during the pre-match conference at Doncaster Rovers' stadium in March 2025.
Jones served in the Royal Engineers until 2021 and has an extensive amateur background, including gold at the European Under-22 Championships in 2018, and a 60-5 record.
Gallagher is 26 years old from Luton and is not worried about the challenge. "I won't take this fight lightly. I'll just put together a clinical boxing performance and be very dominant. The belts are coming back to Luton with me," said Gallagher to the press during the pre-match conference at Doncaster Rovers' stadium in March 2025.
The importance of this fight goes beyond the titles held, there are world championship deals for the winner. GBM promoter Izzy Asif originally viewed the fight as a "risky" one for Gallagher, but the same elements made it a must-have bout.
With both fighters bringing very different styles and supreme confidence to the ring, this is set to be an explosive contest for the Commonwealth Super Bantamweight title.
The fight is part of the undercard of GBM Sports' inaugural stadium show, headlined by Terri Harper defending her WBO world lightweight title against Natalie Zimmerman.
