Garcia Calls Out Lopez And Haney After Benn Knockout

Ryan Garcia stopped Conor Benn in the second round Saturday night, then invited Teofimo Lopez into the ring for an immediate fight.

Garcia dropped Benn with a right hand midway through round two and finished him at 1:25, as both Bad Left Hook and MMA Fighting reported. In the post-fight interview, Garcia spotted Lopez at ringside and shouted for him to climb through the ropes. Security held Lopez back as Garcia continued calling him out.

Garcia Targets Lopez And Haney For Unification

Garcia holds the WBC welterweight title. Lopez recently claimed the WBA strap, while Devin Haney owns the WBO belt. Garcia beat Haney in 2024, but the result was overturned to a no-contest after Garcia failed a post-fight drug test and served a one-year suspension.

Per Bad Left Hook, Garcia told the crowd he wants both fights. He challenged Haney directly from the ring, saying he hopes to face him again for undisputed status. Lopez attempted to reach the ring apron but was blocked by the security crew that had earlier allowed David Benavidez through for a respectful callout of Jai Opetaia.

Garcia landed his left hook early against Benn, then uncorked the right hand that ended matters in round two. MMA Fighting noted that Garcia credited improved health in his right hand for the power shot. Benn made the count but absorbed sustained punishment until the referee waved it off.

Garcia now has his choice of unification targets heading into 2027, with both Lopez and Haney holding belts in the same weight class.
