Hamza Sheeraz has announced that he will be moving to Dublin to train with Andy Lee, a Dublin-based trainer. Sheeraz is no stranger to driving as he previously had to move to Los Angeles to train with Ricky Funez.
Hamza Sheeraz was enjoying a knockout spree of seven matches before a controversial draw on February 22, 2025, that came against Carlos Adames, currently the WBC middleweight title holder since 2024. The fight had different opinions as many of the fans thought that Adames had the better of him, but the judges had different opinions 118-110 for Adames, 115-114 for Sheeraz, and 114-114 for both.
This was the first attempt for Sheeraz at a title, he was not as successful as he would have hoped as he claimed to have experienced an injured arm during the contest but decided to bulldoze through it. With the results he got through the fight, this was considered as an excuse as he was coming from a knockout run of seven matches and was not able to deliver the same against Sheeraz.
Sheeraz moved to Dubai during the Ramadhan period and has become a resident there. Sheeraz also has decided it was time to move up in weight class to super-middleweight.
At super-middleweight, she will be joining the likes of Canelo Alvarez, who currently holds The Ring, WBC, WBA and WBO titles and William Scull, the current IBF champion.
At the Andy Lee camp in Dublin, Sheeraz will be joining other notable boxers. They include; Ben Whittaker, Paddy Donovan and Joseph Parker. Sheeraz was in Dublin recently where he attended a training session between former WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee and Ben Whittaker which helped make his mind up.
Sheeraz hopes to be back in the ring after his arm fully heals and with the new beginning, he hopes to get a chance to fight for the greater things in his new camp and his new trainer. Fighting for titles is number one on his bucket list.
