Harper Ready For Zimmermann – ‘I’m Hungry’
Sports Press Photo

Terri Harper and Natalie Zimmermann held their final presser ahead of their WBO Lightweight Title clash, as they were ready to put everything on the line.

Harper arrives into the fight as the champion, having secured the title against Rhiannon Dixon in a unanimous decision win. That was Harper’s first win in her last three fights, showing she was not in the best form. A majority draw against Cecilia Braekhus and a loss to Sandy Ryan raised questions over her team set-up. However, she has the chance to unify against the WBC Lightweight Champion, Caroline Dubois, if she comes out with a win.

Zimmermann has not lost a pro fight, as she has a 13-0 record. She secured the title shot with wins against Orsolya Moldovan and Katerina Dvorakova. While she is undefeated, Zimmermann has only secured three stoppage wins. She will do well to secure a decision win against Harper in front of the latter’s home crowd.

Presser

“It’s such an amazing opportunity and I’m really excited for it. I can’t wait. I don’t know what it is with Caroline Dubois or what her problem is, but I honestly can’t wait to get paid to get in that girl’s face. First I’ve got to get past Natalie Zimmerman here on Friday night. Then, if she wants it next, she can have it. I’ve got the fire in me, the self-belief, the love for boxing. I’m hungry again, and if I don’t get a statement win here on Friday night, I’ll be disappointed,” Harper

“I’ve brought in girls from all over Europe to give me hard sparring and try to replicate Terri’s style. I have really put my all into this training camp. I am at my best and I will give my best. Becoming world champion on Friday night means everything to me,” Zimmerman
