A British cruiserweight is preparing for the toughest night of his career to date as he takes on one of Jai Opetaia’s former foes in Bournemouth, England.
Headlining a card in Bournemouth on Saturday, the 26th of July, Reece Bellotti will face Ryan Garner in a British and European super-featherweight title fight.
On the undercard, a 10-1 cruiserweight promises to make a statement as he denounces Jai Opetaia and issues a brutal threat to his upcoming foe.
Aloys Youmbi, better known as Aloys Jr., is coming off a dominant third-round KO over David Jamieson just two months ago.
Aloys lost his pro debut on points, but just 10 fights later is a Commonwealth champion looking to go on to the big stage.
His next opponent is 18-2 Ellis Zorro, whom Jai Opetaia blitzed in one round. Zorro was stopped by Chev Clarke in eight rounds in his next fight.
Aloys said of Zorro, “I am the best fighter he’s ever been in with.”
When asked if that included Opetaia, Aloys responded, “I said what I said.”
Speaking on how the fight will play out, Aloys said, “Sun Tzu said the best defense is offense, so if he’s gonna come in defensive, he’s gonna die.”
He maintained that he is not comparing himself to Opetaia and feels no need to outperform him.
In the same interview, Aloys was asked about Jake Paul, to which he responded,
“Apparently he’s in f—— top 15. That’s ridiculous. How the hell is a YouTuber disgracing my division? That doesn’t even make sense in my head. So if you want to come here, come, call me.”
Paul was given a ranking in the top 15 after defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. last time out.
Interestingly, Jake Paul could face Zurdo Ramirez, meaning it may be Paul who is compared to Opetaia.
