Hitchins Stops Kambosos In The Eighth
Joe Camporeale-Imagn Images

Richardson Hitchins defended his IBF Junior Welterweight Title against George Kambosos Jr., stopping him in the eighth round in a comprehensive performance.

Hitchins defended his IBF belt for the second time, having defeated Liam Paro in his last fight. Hitchins was seeking out a fight with either Teofimo Lopez or Devin Haney, only for those fighters to focus elsewhere. A win puts Hitchins closer to unifying against Lopez or a fight with Haney at 147. Meanwhile, Kambosos was looking to become a two-weight world champion. He defeated Jake Wyllie in his last fight, which was his first at 140 pounds. A win would have set up a possible Lopez rematch for a mega domestic clash against Paro. However, Kambosos was outclassed as you can see how the fight played out.
